Last Whim:
40ft traditional style narrow boat built in 1996 by PJ Barber. Last Whim, has brass portholes, a solid oak interior fit out, a German Hatz 3Ldiesel engine and hydraulic drive, an Epping stove/fire for heating and cooking, and Mikuni MY30 hot air diesel heating system. It has recently had 2 new 110amp leisure batteries and has a separate starter battery. Fitted in 2023 , a 1600 victron inverter and a new galvanic isolator.
Last Whim's boat safety certificate is valid until November 2026. Whim has no gas on board and instead uses a methylated spirt stove, negating the need for a gas safety certificate.
12v fridge with separate freezer compartment and will come fully equipped with everything you need to start your boating journey, from mooring pins to dinner plates!
12v LED lighting throughout, Thetford cassette toilet and a small shower area, the dinette converts into a single bed or can combine with the opposite bench seat into a large double. Then there's the traditional boatman’s cabin bed which drops down into a comfortable double cross bed.
Whim is extremely easy to handle out on the cut; I bought Whim as a novice boater but found her very easy to handle within locks and when mooring up, allowing me to pick up boating very quickly.
Whim’s first owner commissioned its build and was the owner until 2023, and lovingly maintained it yearly with 2pack blacking. As the second owner I have lived aboard Whim for a year and I have enjoyed life on the canal so much that I have decided to upgrade to a longer boat, hence the sale.
